Texas Mayoral Candidate Arrested For 109 Counts Of Mail-In Voter Fraud

On Thursday, a candidate for Mayor of Carrollton, Texas was arrested for 109 counts of mail-in voter fraud. The candidate, 39 year old Zul Mirza Mohamed, now faces up to 20 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.

According to the Denton County Sheriff’s Office, over 100 absentee ballot applications were requested to be sent to a single PO Box in Lewisville, Texas. The PO Box belonged to a nursing home. When the sheriff’s office contacted the individuals that supposedly requested the ballots, none of them claimed to have done so. Investigators later discovered that the PO Box belonged to an individual that used a fake Texas driver’s license and a fake student ID.

Mohamed was caught picking up the 100+ mail-in ballots from the PO Box earlier this week. Mohamed brought all of the ballots back to his house, where officers soon obtained a warrant to search. The requested mail-in ballots and fake IDs used to obtain the PO Box were all discovered after officers searched Mohamed’s residence.
