At least 6,867 voters in New Jersey recently received the wrong mail-in ballot for the November election, which listed a different congressional district than the one the voter resides in. All of the incorrect mail-in ballots were sent to voters in Teaneck, New Jersey. The 6,867 improper ballots represents over 24% of the 28,151 ballots received by voters in Teaneck.
Officials claim that the incident was caused by a “printing error”. The local board of elections is supposedly aware as to who received the incorrect mail-in ballots and will send corrected ones out “soon”. However, each voter that either doesn’t receive a replacement ballot in time or has already mailed in their improper ballot will be disenfranchised from voting in their congressional election.
