China has created hotspots to push their own propaganda across the U.S. In Las Vegas, a radio station called Las Vegas Public Radio was recently discovered to be a registered lobbyist for the Communist Chinese government funded Huawei. The radio station uses a seemingly public name to fool Americans into trusting the station. The station has hired two Chinese nationals to assist in promoting Chinese propaganda. Lastly, the station has officially expanded into mainland China. The reach of China’s propaganda machine has now spread beyond China to over 500,000 daily listeners in Nevada and Southern California from this sole station alone. The station is facing calls to either be shut down or explain their ties to the Chinese government.
Las Vegas Public Radio isn’t the only Chinese propaganda radio station that is facing criticism. Texas Senator Ted Cruz recently exposed another radio station with direct links to the Communist Chinese government. A Chinese government funded radio station called Phoenix TV recently purchased a broadcasting tower in Mexico to avoid U.S. laws that ban other nations to promote propaganda in the U.S. Phoenix TV utilizes a foriegn tower to send propaganda back to the United States. THe station currently reaches tens of thousands across California each day. Senator Cruz has introduced legislation to close the loophole and eliminate Phoenix TV, but it is still yet to pass.
Overall, the reach of China and their propaganda machine have reached new highs. Americans should be very careful as to where they obtain their news from. For accurate and fair news, avoid all media organizations that have direct ties to the Chinese government.
