Colleyville, Texas will soon be back open for business. The news comes as multiple governors have announced plans to begin to reopen their states. The Mayor of Colleyville issued a declaration that allows for all churches, stores, gyms, restaurants, and other non-essential businesses to open. A similar declaration is expected to be made by the governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, soon.
Questions have arisen regarding the legality of the declaration, but the office of the Texas Attorney General has already confirmed that the declaration was indeed legal. Additional protections will most definitely need to be utilized by businesses. However, it is unclear exactly what these protections will include. It will be extremely interesting to watch how effective the reopening of Colleyville ultimately is.
